This article just arrived in my inbox. I don't agree with all of its points (mainly towards the beginning), but the general idea of it is pretty much accurate, really.

Following the publication of the photos showing our troops dealing with a riot in Iraq we certainly won't be buying the News of the World again. They decided to print those photos and to hell with the potential consequences to our lads, doing their best in an impossible situation. Rather than having then arrested we would have given them all medals. They were in the middle of being stoned and having home made grenades and mortars fired at them. We are the only army in the world who would have charged out with wooden batons and cracked a few heads. Any middle eastern army or the yanks would have simply opened fire and any other european army would have barricaded themselves in and waited until everyone had gone home. While Blair and his rich mates sit around Islington quaffing cappuccino and guacamole our lads are out their trying to sort out his mess. 100 Blair's or Browns aren't worth 1 of those lads but they will be hung out to dry to placate muslim feelings of victimisation and so as not to "alienate" their youth.

The way the situation has been handled is symptomatic of touchy feely way that our country is being mismanaged. The same people who will bring the full force of the law against our soldiers are oblivious to the double standards and hypocrisy of muslim public opinion. While they get hot under the hijab about our lads giving a well deserved hiding to some rioters, before the gulf war their were huge demonstrations in support of Saddam Hussein - a man who has been responsible for the death of millions of muslims. They didn't burn embassies or protest when he gassed thousands of kurds. Virtually every dictator in the middle east has muslim blood on their hands. Where are the demonstrations against them. How they have got the front to ask for their religion to be treated with courtesy and respect with the way that other religions are treated in muslim countries is beyond me. Where are the muslim protests when another church is bombed or burned out in Pakistan? How they can ask for tolerance while threatening to behead non-believers is staggering. We've seen huge demonstrations against some comic scribbles but I bet we won't see anyone heading down to London to protest about the recent bombing of the golden mosque in Samarra - because it's only westerners that they are protesting about. It's fine to have a demonstration to show your objections but it is 2006 and these, at the end of the day were bits of paper with drawings on. If I were a muslim I would hang my head in shame and call off any further demonstration as a mark of respect for the many people who have died - many of them Christians, killed for being Christians. But they know that with every demonstration, every voice raised in protest, with every veiled threat of "alienating" their youth their influence is given extra weight by the government. Our leaders are scared of muslims. How is it that you can hold up a placard calling for the beheading of westerners; in London, in front of the police and not get arrested. Every concession leads to another concession, surrender followed by surrender. By being weak they send out totally the wrong message and actually invite them to take some more, encouraging more trouble  and putting more people at risk in the future.

This is a symptom of multi-culturalism. It encourages the belief that everything is up for grabs, rather than saying that this is our country and this is the way that we do things. If people are going to come to our country they should be in no doubt that it is on our terms and they can live their life as they see fit but it is under the hegemony of the English people. If we had done this from the start it would have saved everyone so much trouble. How have we ever allowed our self to get into the present situation?
