Clothing censorship
Even clothes are suffering censorship now.
Whilst waiting for a bus in his adoptive home town of Peterborough, American David Pratt - a forklift truck driver - was stopped by street wardens and threatened with an £80 fine if he was seen wearing the garment, a novelty t-shirt, again whilst in the city.
A gift from his wife whilst in Venice Beach, California, the shirt proclaims "Don't piss me off! I'm running out of places to hide the bodies."
Council wardens have told him that wearing the shirt could cause offence, or even incite violence, but Mr Pratt has said that many people laugh at it, and some even stop him and ask where they could get one.
He continued, "It's a bummer because I like the shirt but I am trying to get citizenship but if I get a fine I can kiss citizenship goodbye. I really don't see how the wording on my T-shirt could incite violence - it's humour, that's all it is."
Now, perhaps this story has been blown up a little by the press - it wouldn't be the first time, let's face it - but come on. It's utterly stupid.
