Clarke bites Blair

Well, it's happened. Finally. One of Tony's bum-chums has hit back, and although he may look like some kind of gibbon, I applaud him for this damaging (but probably not damaging enough) and scathing attack at Blair.

A very interesting read, and I particularly like that "[Tony Blair has] lost his sense of purpose."

Could really do with some more "outbursts", if anyone's interested?

Fucking finally

Some acknowledgement.

The BBC are officially idiots

Apparently, after 42 years, the BBC has cancelled Top of the Pops, as
it has reached "its natural conclusion", and "cannot compete with
24-hour music channels".

No. No no no.

How utterly idiotic. There is nothing wrong with Top of the Pops.
There never has been, and as long as there is such a thing as
"popular" music, there never will be. The only reason the show has
become so unsuccessful in recent years is its timeslot. I dont suppose
that the choice of presenters has helped much either, but the
scheduling has been the main problem.

Put it back in its double-slot with Tomorrow's World on a Thursday
evening, for Christ's sake.

Rebranding the EU

From BBC News -

Europe Minister Geoff Hoon has admitted the EU has "an image problem" and must convince people in the UK that it "makes a difference to their lives".

The leaders of the 25 EU nations are meeting to discuss the direction they will take in the coming year.
Mr Hoon said people did not understand how events in Brussels affected them.

This is laughable, at best. In my experience, those who actually have an opinion of the EU do tend to "understand how events in Brussels affected them", and they know that "it makes a difference to their lives". But the bit which Hoon, and his 'new' Labour co-conspirators still fail to grasp is that that effect is almost entirely negative.

Oh dear again.

It's a sad, sad day when the BBC 6 O'Clock News reports on the photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's child, Shiloh Pitt (which apparently translates from Swedish as "two pounds of cock"), having appeared in the press.

*sigh*

Oh dear.

Well, it would seem that Phil Bigley, brother of murdered Kenneth, is utterly, totally, undeniably, absolutely fucking delusional. He has said, in an interview with BBC News, that he would have hope to have seen Abu Musab al-Zarqawi brought to trial, and to have had the chance to sit down and talk to him.

This man is quite obviously mentally unstable, and needs to be locked up for his own personal safety, if not that of others.

Malaysia doesn't want Cherie

It seems that hte Malaysians have decided that they don't want Cherie. If only we could do the same, eh?

The true colours of the left

It seems that The Guardian has been inciting hatred for an aging, frail, widowed pensioner. Can't say I'm really surprised, as lefties do tend to be suitably cold, heartless and hypocritical, but it's still a bit sick.
I, for one, shall not be celebrating, and those who do are demonstrating their lack of understanding of politics and economics, nevermind their fairytale grasp on the realities of cause, action and consequence.

The Newsnight Question

I've just watched a rather interesting report on Newsnight regarding the West Lothian Question. Whilst there was the mandatory twat (read: Scottish Labour MP) arguing that black is white, on the whole it was a rather good report, certainly considering that it is a subject which is rarely covered at all.

It angers me immensely that this barbaric, blatant rape of democracy is allowed to continue - especially when it goes so unnoticed! If the situation were reversed, they'd be screaming blue murder. So just WHY is it allowed to go on? Because we have a Labour Government which is not only predominantly Scottish, but also relies on their Scottish MPs to pass their legislation!

They set about 'fixing' the House of Lords when there really wasn't anything to fix in the first place, and yet refuse to even look at this, which so obviously needs fixing that it's painful.

(In fact, not only do they refuse to even look at it, Tony Blair's answer to the West Lothian Question is to "not ask it in the first place".)

New proposals from Brown

Better late than never, I suppose.
