Scotland is the 'worst small country'

BBC News Online is today reporting that Scotland is the "worst performing small country in Western Europe".

From the site:

The Federation of Small Businesses' annual Index of Wealth compared 10 countries on economic performance, employment rates, health and education.

Scotland's life expectancy rate was a major factor in it coming bottom.

I'd love to see how Alex Salmond responds to this. Just how would Scotland cope if it went independent?

Olympics: Sign it

Oh, and don't forget to show your support for the movement to replace that God-forsaken logo.

At the time of writing, there are exactly 43,500 signatories. (Note that it may take the petition site a while to load. I presume that this is due to the large numbers of people queueing to show their displeasure for the London 2012 logo...)

Olympic Logo Pt. II

Now it appears that at least 20-odd people have had epileptic seizures from seeing just the initial promotional video for the Olympics.

And that was just within the first few hours after its unveiling. Can't wait for the next five years, can you?

Just another fairly indicative balls-up in the never-ending let's-bankrupt-London 2012 Olympic saga. PLEASE can we give it to the French?

The look: London 2012

London 2012 logo - like everything else, it's just one big, big mistakeWell, today the London 2012 Olympic Committee (or whatever they're called this week) unveiled the official logo for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Christ.

In all honesty, I do not know the words to express how utterly confused and ugly this new logo actually is. It's horrific, busy, and draws the eye away from it. Completely opposing the inherent intentions of a logo. It just looks a mess.

So it sums up the whole London 2012 'affair' quite nicely.
